Today, we started studying a new text the Power of Adertising (p.17)

First, we introduced the text : it’s an article written by Morgan Spurlock.

Then we tried to match figures and information.

So,  $18.2 billion : amount of money spent on advertising by the car industry in one year
$15 billion a year: amount of money spent on advertising by the retail industry.
$33 billion a year: amount of money spent on advertising by the food industry.

Then we tried to answer this question : how important is the car in America. We said there are more drivers than cars. There are 794 car for 1,000 inhabitants in the US, compared with 21 for 1,000 inhabitants in China (figures for 2006).

For next week, you have to learn this and be able to present the text. Have a nice week-end.
